چکیده
The detonation initiation characteristics of a single tube liquid-fueled pulse combustor (PDC) is investigated at different inlet air temperatures in this paper. inner diameter the PDC 62 mm. Gasoline and are used as fuel oxidant, respectively. temperature 288–523 K operating frequency 10~30 Hz. experimental results show that deflagration to transition (DDT) distance, time, DDT time jet ignition decrease with increasing same temperature. When 288 K, distance shortened from 860.5 mm 787.7 increases 10 Hz 30 reduced 10.01 ms, 7.66 ms 2.35 6.55 4.99 1.56 increases, atomization evaporation gasoline improved, which also leads time. For example, when 523 Hz, 747.2 5.867 2.51 1.11 Additionally, self-ignition caused by high wall occurs under

Research carried out from 2003-2005 at the Explosion Dynamics Laboratories at Caltech under an ONR contract has examined many issues critical to Pulse Detonation Engine (PDE) development. These include: detonation structure imaging using OH PLIF; a narrow channel facility for examining regular and irregular detonations; detonation diffraction; mechanism of soot track generation; fundamental and...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation to Investigate the Effect of Obstacle on Detonation Wave Propagation in a Pulse Detonation Engine Combustor
Pulse detonation technology can be a revolutionary approach for propulsion system since it offers significant fuel efficiency, higher thrust to weight ratio and low cost. Although the design concept of a pulse detonation engine is comparatively simple, but the development and stabilization of sustainable detonation wave front is difficult. Consequently pulse detonation engine technology is stil...

The long-time behavior of the solution of the system θτ−απτ = Ω(θ), πτ−θτ = πξξ is investigated. Such a system is related to the modeling of detonation waves subjected to strong hydraulic resistance. We establish that some initial conditions yield decay (failure of ignition) while for other initial conditions our results strongly suggest convergence to traveling waves (successful ignition).

An experimental study on pulse detonation engine (PDE) is conducted using hydrogen/air mixtures. Several key issues for PDE development, including valve operation, injection, mixing, filling, cycle repetition, ignition timing, DDT distance and propagation of detonation/quasi-detonation, are investigated. The fuel and oxidizer are injected into PDE from opposite sidewall directions to be well mi...
